Who doesn’t love a good deal? I finally realized that when you pass 50, you stand to collect savings on everything from dining to clothes, travel, and services. One of the best websites I’ve found for senior discounts is The Senior List® – www.TheSeniorList.com. What’s cool about it is that you can see which discounts have been verified and are thus reliable. The Senior List founder, Amie Clark, believes that whether someone is turning 65 or in their 90s, life can be embraced with the right tools and the right advice. In replying to one of her discount users, she wrote: “It has been disappointing to see businesses drop or decrease their senior discounts over the years, we try to keep this list as updated as possible. Our mantra is to “ask, ask, ask” anywhere you go about any senior or veterans’ discounts businesses may offer.” She also invites everyone to recommend senior discounts in her comments section.
Here are just a few that will offer handsome savings. Each discount may not seem huge by itself, but collectively they are when using them consistently. It doesn’t hurt to ask all service or product purveyors if they offer discounts for patrons over 50 years of age (some of those listed, below, may only be available in certain locations):
